The Basket Star Shrimp (Lipkemenes lanipes, previously known as Periclimenes lanipes) are exclusively associated with Basket Stars. These echinoderms only come out at night. Basket Star Shrimps are not easy to shoot. As soon as underwater macro photographer shine any light on these gorgeous star-like echinoderms, they start to collapse their long arms and the shrimps start heading for cover. They come out to feed at night as that’s the only time the Basket Star comes out to feed, too.
