This popular photo subject of visiting underwater macro photographers has a brown or greenish brown color with darkening on its branching region of the cereta. The body is mostly translucent, which makes it easy to see the digestive glands inside. An amazing feature of Melibe digitata are the finely branched papillae on the cereta, which look similar to certain green algae.
